Crunchy Almond Tuna With Lemon Ginger Sauce

Crunchy Almond Tuna With Lemon Ginger Sauce
Prep time: , Cook time: , Total time:

1/2 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup white clam sauce

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon grated ginger

4 (6- to 8-ounce) tuna steaks

Salt and pepper

2/3 cup sliced almonds

2 tablespoons olive oil

Lemon slices to garnish

Whisk together broth, clam sauce, lemon juice and ginger in a saucepot. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer gently until sauce is reduced almost by half, or until it coats the back of a spoon. Keep warm until ready to use. Season tuna steaks with salt and pepper. Place almonds in blender or food processor and chop roughly, pulsing for just a few seconds. Place ground almonds in a shallow bowl and dredge each almond steak lightly. Heat olive oil in a large skillet on medium-high heat. Brown steaks, cooking until almond crust is golden; tuna should be medium-rare. Remove from grill and divide among 4 plates, spooning sauce over each steak. Garnish with lemon slices and serve.
