FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)

The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is the most sweeping reform of food safety laws in more than 70 years. Almond growers are required to comply with FSMA rules, as relevant to each part of the operation.

Almond growers and other primary or secondary activities farms such as some huller/shellers and brownskin almond facilities are covered by the Produce Safety rule, which goes into effect in January 2018 for larger operations.
