Growing a Healthy, Sustainable Plate: From Recommendation to Reality
Over the next few decades, changing the way we eat and produce food will be critical to improving human and planetary health.  Moderated by registered dietitian Kate Geagan, Walter Willett, M.D., Dr. P.H., Professor of Epidemiology and Nutrition at Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health will present findings from the new EAT-Lancet Commission on Food, Planet and Health and discuss the first global and scientific definition of sustainable nutritious eating pattern. Sam Kass, Food Entrepreneur and former White House Chef and Senior Policy Advisory for Nutrition will review the role of the private and public sectors in transforming the food system and share ways dietitians can empower consumer behavior change to help build a healthier plate and planet.

Tuesday, October 23, 9:45 AM – 11:15 AM

Room 146 ABC

We’re looking forward to seeing many of you in Washington, D.C.!

Perfect Portion Tins

You may be familiar with our Perfect Portion tins; we debut the new design every year at our FNCE booth.  But they’re not just cute. They have nutrition relevance too. We’re all aware that almonds make a great snack—but do you know how many almonds are in a serving? The answer is as easy as 1-2-3: one ounce of almonds is 23 almonds. It’s what we call the perfect portion, which fits exactly into our ever-popular Perfect Portion Tin. Check out this year’s new design!
