USDA, Almond Board Offer Opportunities to Discuss New Produce Safety Rules
August 9, 2013
USDA is hosting a webinar titled “FDA’s proposed Produce Safety Rules – An Interactive Discussion” from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon Pacific Time on Wednesday, Aug. 28.
In conjunction with the webinar, Almond Board of California (ABC) will be hosting an industry meeting to discuss the two proposed rules under FSMA:
- Standards for the Growing, Harvesting, Packing and Holding of Produce for Human Consumption (Produce Safety Rule)
- Current Good Manufacturing Practice and Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food (GMPs & Preventive Controls)
All industry members are invited to participate in person at the ABC offices in Modesto. After the USDA webinar, the ABC meeting will be open to a discussion of potential areas of concern, as well as areas where the ABC may wish to provide comments. You are encouraged to participate in person or by phone. Register here for the USDA webinar; if you wish to participate in the ABC meeting immediately following the webinar (either in person or by conference call), please RSVP to Jayme Puthoff by email or by telephone at (209) 343-3279. ABC conference call-in numbers will be provided to those who RSVP.
