Celebrate National Almond Day

From National Almond Day on Feb. 16 to American Heart Month, February is a big month for California Almonds. In addition to being linked to heart health, almonds are a tasty treat and a perfect pairing with dark chocolate and berries. Celebrate National Almond Day this year by encouraging friends and family to enjoy their favorite recipe with almonds.

Scientific evidence suggests, but does not prove, that eating 1.5 ounces per day of nuts, such as almonds, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. One serving of almonds (28g) has 13g of unsaturated fat and only 1g of saturated fat.
