European Nutrition Professionals Gain Almond Insights

ABC's chief scientific officer, Dr. Karen Lapsley (right),  answers questions about almond nutrition research at  the European Nutrition Conference in Madrid.The Almond Board of California (ABC) had an impressive presence at Federation of European Nutrition Societies' 11th European Nutrition Conference held in Madrid in October. USDA nutrition researcher Dr. David Baer presented preliminary data from his almond calorie research, and Tufts University nutritionist Dr. Jeffrey Blumberg presented preliminary findings on the effect of almonds on vascular reactivity and inflammation. ABC hosted a reception attended by distinguished North American and European researchers, and sponsored a booth in the exhibit hall, reaching nutrition professionals from across Europe.
