Kern County Meeting to Discuss Irrigated Lands Program

November 1, 2011

The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board will hold a meeting Nov. 30 near Bakersfield that will include discussions of the Eastern San Joaquin River watershed and Tulare Lake Basin waste discharge requirements being developed for discharges from irrigated lands.

The Kern County meeting provides an opportunity to learn more about the potential direction of the new Irrigated Lands Regulatory Program currently being expanded to include assurances for maintaining both surface and ground water quality. It also allows interested parties in the Southern San Joaquin Valley to provide feedback about the Board’s direction with the program.

The meeting location, starting time and agenda will be posted to the Board’s website at least 10 days before the meeting.
