USDA/MAP Funding Allocation to ABC Surpasses $2 Million


The USDA/FAS announced that the Almond Board of California’s (ABC) Market Access Program (MAP) funding grant allocation will be $2,172,053 in 2011. This reflects a 26% increase over 2010 and will be the largest ever received by the ABC. MAP funds are used to conduct generic consumer and trade education and outreach programs to expand almond consumption and usage in key export markets such as China, India and Korea, and to monitor and address technical and regulatory issues on a worldwide basis.
