Junior Accountant

This position is responsible performing key accounting processes and provides Corporate wide office administration as well as support to the Finance and Administration team. What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform General Ledger reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and reconciliation of bank statements for the monthly financial close process along with entering related journal entries.
  • Responsible for the accurate transfer of corporate-wide accounts payable to the general ledger.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly check runs.
  • Coordinate and ensure adherence to Internal Control Policy with regards to backup documentation, check signatures and disbursement of funds.
  • Implement Concur automated expense reporting through roll-out.
  • Responsible for all company-issued credit cards and overseeing the monthly reconciliation process.
  • Process travel expense reports into AP system.
  • Serve as the point person for office supply orders and maintaining stock of supplies.
  • Maintain all original documentation for USDA correspondence and approval notices.
  • Maintain records for ABC assets such as company vehicles.
  • Coordinate the storage and maintenance of ABC records in an off-site facility.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between ABC and service vendors.

Our ideal candidate requirements:

  • An AA/AS degree in accounting or business administration, or 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software with advanced skills in Excel, and Word.
  • Knowledge of mathematics, accounting and finance principles and their applications as they relate to GAAP.
  • Experience in ERP accounting applications.
  • Experience with automated expense reporting applications such as Concur.
