By any measure, 2015 has been an extraordinary year, with challenges that were met with strength in identity and focus on the tasks at hand. Although these have been daunting times, the California Almond industry rose to the occasion and landed in a much better place. This was the message of Almond Board of California Chairman Mike Mason and President and CEO Richard Waycott as they welcomed more than 3500 attendees to the 43rd Almond Conference in Sacramento Dec. 8. They noted that all challenges lead to opportunity and change, and that the Board of Directors has responded and will invest your dollars in the most prudent way for the benefit of the industry.
