Program Coordinator, Research and Innovation

The Almond Board of California is seeking an organized, detail oriented, self-motivated individual to join our Research and Innovation team as a key component of our grant administration program. This position will focus on managing the administration of research grants, including maintaining the research database, tracking and reporting of grants, communication with researchers and other stakeholders, assistance with organizing research sessions at conferences and meetings, and serve as the staff coordinator for industry committees. What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintain files and assist in the administration for the research program including request for proposals, proposal reviews, drafting and grant administration, oversight of agreement deliverables, payments, and tracking amendments
  • Serve as the primary contact with researchers and university grant administration units to ensure timely reporting, managing grant agreements, and issuing reminders of reporting requirements
  • Assist in the planning, organization and conduct of committee and work group meetings as well as outreach to stakeholders on research topics including through webinars, tours, meetings, and printed materials
  • Purchase almond samples for research
  • Address requests for information and analysis of Almond Board research
  • Track the department budget expenditures to provide quarterly updates and reports from ABC financial software

 

Our ideal candidate requirements:

  • BS degree in agricultural research, or related sciences with 1-3 years related post college experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn, use and manage SharePoint, databases, and other software
  • An interest and understanding of agriculture and/or research preferred
  • Strong attention to financial and administrative details related to managing processes and grant agreements
  • Experience Interacting and collaborating with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders and groups
