Regional Director, North America and China Marketing

We are seeking a market-specific regional director that will have responsibility for the development, implementation, achievement and measurement of marketing, trade stewardship, and market access/regulatory issues and activities and corresponding budget.

We are seeking a market-specific regional director that will have responsibility for the development, implementation, achievement and measurement of marketing, trade stewardship, and market access/regulatory issues and activities and corresponding budget.

ABC currently has integrated marketing programs in ten countries across the globe. This Director role oversees two very critical markets, the entire North American region and China, currently representing over 40% of the overall Global Market Development Budget.

This Director will have two direct reports – one (based in Modesto, CA) that leads the programs in the North America and a Consultant (based in Hong Kong) that leads the China market.

This is a full time, professional level, exempt role that can be performed remotely with frequent travel as needed to Almond Board of California headquarters in Modesto, CA.

What you'd be doing:

  • Manage comprehensive North American & China program development, execution, measurement and analysis and reporting of results
  • Manage strategic development, including forward-thinking strategic leadership and resource identification
  • Lead agencies to develop fully integrated tactical plans to address strategies and objectives
  • Oversee various market research projects; submit final reports with data analysis and recommend any key insights or strategy shifts that to be incorporated into the market’s plan.
  • Supervise and manage the work process and product of the Almond Board’s local PR and/or advertising agencies of record to ensure fiscal year program contract is fulfilled within budget allocated and the agreed upon quantitative and qualitative measurements are met or exceeded.
  • Supervise direct report(s) determining the appropriate allocation of responsibilities, providing feedback on work product, understanding each individual’s key motivations and guiding their development

Our ideal candidate:

The future member of ABC must have an in-depth knowledge of:

  • Consumer Packaged Goods trends, marketing, and planning process
  • North American macro & business economics; impact of these economics on market forces and industries
  • North American public relations and marketing expertise
  • Media planning, strategy

They will also possess the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to strategize and mobilize on potential market opportunities within North America
  • Exploring new channels, identifying target audiences and leveraging insights to support and build awareness and penetration.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field and 7-10 years of professional experience including the execution of domestic or international consumer marketing within the consumer-packaged goods sector
