2018 Almond Achievement Award: Applications Due Oct. 18

9/10/2018

Advocacy. Leadership. Service. There are many individuals within the almond industry who display these positive attributes each and every day, and they deserve to be recognized for their dedication.

Since 2011, the Almond Achievement Award has honored a member of the almond community or an allied-industry member who has added value to the California almond industry through long-term service, contributions or innovations.

We encourage members of the almond community to nominate deserving individuals who meet the criteria to receive the Almond Achievement Award. The ideal candidate is one who has contributed to the industry not only by serving on an Almond Board of California (ABC) committee, but also whose service extends outside ABC on various fronts, whether through steadfast advocacy or innovation resulting in industry growth.

Upon receiving nominations, ABC staff will assemble background information for each nominee and submit the candidates’ qualifications to ABC’s Global Communications Committee. The committee will evaluate each candidate and make a recommendation to the Board of Directors. The 2018 Almond Achievement Award recipient will be recognized by ABC President and CEO Richard Waycott during the Gala Dinner at this year’s Almond Conference.

Past Almond Achievement Award recipients include Tony Campos, Dave Phippen, Ned Ryan, Martin Pohl, Joe MacIlvaine, Dave Baker and Jim Jasper.

Nominating an almond industry leader for the 2018 Almond Achievement Award is simple: email Jenny Nicolau at jnicolau@almondboard.com and state your nominee’s name and associated company, as well as your reasons for nominating that individual.

The nominations deadline for the 2018 Almond Achievement Award is Thursday, Oct. 18.
