Almond Board at the Institute of Food Technologists Annual Meeting

7/17/2015

The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting & Food Expo is the largest food ingredients show in the world. Here food industry folks from around the globe come to discover ingredients and food trends and solve product development challenges.

Earlier this week at the 75th anniversary of IFT in Chicago, the Almond Board of California (ABC) hosted several activities throughout the meeting, including:

  • A program session on the nutrition science behind satiety as it applies to product development
  • A program session covering the practice of lifecycle assessment as it applies to food including almonds
  • A sponsored demonstration on the technical aspects of creating an almond product
  • Recipe concept sessions and sampling at ABC’s booth

Watch here for a quick tip from Research Chef John Csukor on how to formulate a glaze for bars and snack products using almond butter and almond crème. The glaze is a great solution for manufacturers looking to reduce sugar or simplify their ingredient list.
